Natalie Appleton was born on May 14, 1973 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Aside from younger sister Nicole, she also has two elder siblings, Lori and Lee. Her family lived in a relatively nomadic lifestyle while they were growing up, spending time in Toronto, New York and London.
Natalie Appleton enlisted at the Sylvia Young Theatre School. She then moved back to New York City and then to Camden, England, where she met and married Carl Robinson. She gave birth to a daughter whom she named Rachel. The two divorced shortly afterwards.
Nicole Appleton meanwhile was born on December 7, 1974 in Hamilton, also in Ontario, Canada. In 1983, she as well enrolled at the Sylvia Young Theatre School together with her sister. While at Sylvia Young Theatre School, Nicole Appleton met and became best friends with Melanie Blatt. It was Blatt who came up with the idea of putting up a girl group and was looking for new members. Nicole, together with Natalie became part of the girl group, and Blatt introduced another member, Shaznay Lewis. Their group, which was officially formed in 1996, became known as All Saints.
All Saints became a successful all-girl group which scored a total of five No. 1 hits. They also did a movie entitled Honest, which featured steamy nude scenes by the Nicole and Natalie. The film turned out to be a flop. In 2001, All Saints split up due to rumors and gossip.
In 1997, Nicole Appleton met and had an affair with singer Robbie Williams. She became pregnant during their love affair, however, according to her biography, Nicole Appleton was forced by her record label to have an abortion. She then began a relationship with Oasis front man Liam Gallagher in 2001. The two have a son and have plans to marry in the future. Gallagher also recorded the song Songbird for her.
Natalie and Nicole Appleton formed a new band in 2002 named Appleton. Their band released a single entitled Fantasy which featured Natalie doing a stage dive. The sisters also made a documentary Appleton on Appleton which led audiences to get a peek on their daily lives, and was coincided by the release of their album, Everything’s Eventual.
Natalie Appleton married Liam Howlett in 2002, and they have a child named Ace, who was born in 2004. She also became a contestant in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, but left the show after one week.
Their former group, All Saints reunited in 2006 and eventually released the album named Studio 1.
