English actress Amanda Holden was born on the 16th of February 1971 in Bishop’s Waltham, Hampshire. She was born Amanda Louise Holden. Her television debut was on ITV’s Blind Date where she was one of the unsuccessful contestants. Her first major television role was in soap East Enders by BBC in 1994. She was best known in the Cutting Edge which lasted from 2002 to 2004. Cutting Edge is an acclaimed drama series and her portrayal of Mia Bevan earned her a nomination from the BAFTA Award.

Amanda is married to television personality Les Dennis. They got married in 1995 but later of separated after she had an affair with Neil Morrissey, the actor. Soon after she became the center of the British tabloid and became the target of the paparazzi. Her affair was even parodied in Extra. She finally divorced Les Dennis on November of 2003.

Amanda appeared in many musicals and stage plays. In 2004 she appeared in Thoroughly Modern Millie where she was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical by the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award. That same year she sang (You Make me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin in the BBC charity event Children in Need. On the very same night she surprised everyone when she announced her engagement to record producer Chris Hughes.

Then she was next seen in Wild at Hear playing opposite Stephen Tompkinson. The series by ITV1 aired in 2006 and it was a success the second series was aired in 2007. She was also seen in Kiss Me Kate where she played opposite Caroline Quentin. Then she appeared in the comedy series by ITV The Grimleys and Caleb. She starred opposite Harry Enfiled in Caleb. Then she was seen alongside Damien Lewis in BBC’s critically acclaimed Hearts and Bones. She then had another comedy appearance in the series Mad About Alice where she joined Jaimie Theakston. Then she appeared in the Boxing Day special with Geraldinge Mc Ewan and John Hannah in Marple. Then she appeared with Sir Tom Courtenay and Bill Nighy in Ready When You Are, Mr. McGill, a classic drama comedy by Jack Rosenthal.

In 2006 she gave birth to baby girl, Alexa Louise Florence Hudges, her first born. In 2007, she was one of the judges, along with Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan, of Britain’s Got Talent. The talent show hosted by Ant and Dec.
