Alyson Michalka was on born March 25, 1989, in Torrance, California. She was first introduced to the world of show business in 1994, when she appeared in stage productions set in churches around Seattle and California. She was five years old then. As a young girl, Alyson Michalka already appeared in musicals, a few being Jailhouse Rock and A Time to Remember. Five years later, the Michalka family moved from Torrance to Los Angeles, California, where she continued to explore her skills both in acting and singing.

In 2004, Alyson Michalka became part of the Disney TV series Phil of the Future, where she played the role of Keely Teslow. Finally after two years she was able to be part of the cast of a TV sitcom, for she had been seeking for roles since she was 11. The series revolves around the Diffy's-a family that hailed originally from the year 2121 but was transported back to the year 2004, and must find a way to cope with their new environment. Keely is best friend to the Diffy son, Phil. Alyson's first professional acting stint resulted to be a hit for the Disney channel.

The following year, Alyson Michalka continued her job on Phil of the Future. It was also in 2005 when she began her career in singing, by recording soundtracks for Disney Channel Original Movies including Twitches and Now You See It. The feature-length films Herbie: Fully Loaded and Ice Princess also featured music by Alyson Michalka, thus recognizing her as a multi-talented performer in the industry.

Alyson Michalka shared her success in the music world with her sister Amanda. Still in 2005, the two were featured on two albums released by Disney, namely Disneymania, Vol. 3, and Disney Gurlz Rock. They also released their own album entitled Into the Rush. To promote their album, the sisters starred in their own movie, Aly & AJ in Concert, directed by no less than Alyson Michalka herself. That became her directorial debut at the age of 16.

Success continued on in 2006, when Alyson Michalka and her sister were cast on the lead roles for the TV movie Cow Belles. The movie featured the adventures of two rich sisters who are to save their family business at the brink of its collapse. She is still part of Phil of the Future until then.

Alyson Michalka is also about to explore new heights, this time in the world of fashion as she plans to create her own clothing line. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her sister, her parents, and her two dogs.
