Made famous by her role in Clueless, Alicia Silverstone is a native of California. She was born from California real estate investor Monty Silverstone and Scottish flight attendant mother on the 4th of October 1976 in California. Her father though have a very successful career in California was born and raised in East London. Alicia has three older siblings and a famous half sister, Kezi Silverstone, who is famous in London rock scene, did not finish her high school at San Mateo High School due to her interest in modeling and acting. At the young age of six she had already experienced acting when she did a commercial for Domino’s Pizza. During this time she also started modeling. Her first recognizable role is the girl opposite Fred Savage in The Wonder Years although fame came to her when she appeared in the video of Aerosmith and in her appearances in Batman and Robin, and of course, in Clueless.

Her film career started when she landed the part in The Crash. Her role, a girl out to destroy an older man, won her the 1994 MTV Movie Awards for Best Breakthrough Performance and Best Villain. This role caught the attention of Marty Callner who directed “Cryin” for Aerosmith. He then cast her in the videos Crazy and Amazing. She then became known as the “Aerosmith Chick” and soon became a household name.

Her role in The Crash also caught the attention of producer Amy Heckerling who then decided that she would be perfect for the role in Clueless. Amy Hackerling’s decision proved to be quite correct and Clueless became the blockbuster hit of 1995. Alicia was praised for her performance and her role became the image of the young carefree and superficial generation of the 90s. She became the darling of the critics and the movie goers. She was subsequently then offered by Columbia TriStar for a $10 million deal. In 1996 she was awarded by MTV Movie Awards as Best Female Performance and Most Desirable Female.

After the enormous success Clueless brought her, she starred with George Clooney, Chis O’Donnel, Arnold Scwharzegger and Uma Thurman in Batman & Robin. Her role in Batman and Robin earned her the Worst Supporting Actress in the Razzie Awards. This was followed by future bad publicity and with just one film with Columbia TriStar, the company just let the deal with her expire. She did more forgetful roles and television appearances which did not help her career. Her last appearance was in ABC’s Pink Collar.
