Alexandra Holden began her acting career when she moved to Los Angeles at the age of eighteen. It took her a year of acting classes and auditions until finally she stumbled upon a role in the brief sitcom Mrs. Rhodes. Her charming face became a regular in the boob tube due to regular guest appearances on television. What made her more popular though was when she became part of the 1998 Aerosmith video, Hole in My Soul, where she was a sexy blonde scientist, along with Roswell star Kevin Fehr.
Alexandra Holden also had recurring roles in the now defunct TV series Friends, where she played the student-turned-girlfriend of Ross Gellar. She even had Bruce Willis to guest in the show playing her father. In Friends, Holden was able to exhibit her quirky personality atop her angelic looks. Not only was she seen on Friends but also in another hit series, Ally McBeal, where she appeared in three episodes. Among her TV credits are Tru Calling, Six Feet Under, Friday Night Lights, All the Days Before Tomorrow, Mind Games, A Dead Calling, Peep Show, Farewell Bender, Special, Everything You Want, Everythings Gone Green, Once and Again, as well as the Emmy-award winning hospital series, Greys Anatomy.
Alexandra Holden is good friends with Mandy Moore, whom she met on set of the film How to Deal. According to Moore,
"I just got the idea in my head that ice-cream sounded amazing so Alexandra and I volunteered to go run and find some and we were running all around and it started pouring and we didn't have an umbrella, so we're soaking wet and I had brand new flip-flops on - and they broke. So, I'm running around Toronto without shoes on and, Alex, you were so sweet - you took your shoes off too - like, all for one - one for all
Alexandra Holden was once married to actor Johnny Strong, but the two broke up after two years. She has also been link to Wishcraft co-star, Michael Weston.
