Alexa is best known for her character Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids and its two other sequels. She also appeared in several films over the years.
Aside from appearances in the movies she appeared in several television shows and television films. She was seen in ER, The Bernie and Mac Show and Following the Stars Home. She rose to stardom for her appearance in the Spy Kids trilogy. For the Spy Kids she performed most of her stunts and loved every minute of it. She also recorded Island of Dreams and Game over, two tracks in the soundtrack of the two sequels of Spy Kids. Spy Kids was an instant hit and producers decided to make the sequels. She then released her Isle of Dreams single the same time the Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams was released. She did the same with her single Game over, releasing it the same time Spy Kids 3: Game over was released. Her other single Heart Drive which featured Bobby Enver was also a hit.
In 2003 Alexa Vanity Fair named her as one of the hottest teen celebrities of that year. Then in 2004 she made the movies Sleepover and State’s Evidence. This was followed by TV movie drama Odd Girls Out and another TV movie Walkout. In 2006 she landed and played a part in The Beautiful Ordinary which was set to be released on 2007. Another one of her movie set for release is "Repo! The Genetic Opera". Alexa made her Broadway debut for Hairspray. She is playing Penny Pingleton and the performance lasted August this year.
Alexa lives with her mother and step father in Los Angles however she moved to New York during the production of Hairspray. Currently she has many film and television offers. She is also trying to balance her acting career with her recording.
