Alexa Davalos is an American actress born on May 28, 1982 in Paris, France. She has hailed from a family of actors, being the granddaughter of Richard Davalos (who co-starred opposite James Dean in East of Eden), daughter of niece of Elyssa Davalos, and niece of Dominique Davalos. She stands 5’8” and was once a model. She is of Greek and French descent, and she can speak both languages fluently.

Alexa Davalos first started in the world of show business as a model but later turned out to be an actress. When she was a child, she frequently watched her mother train under the legendary acting coach Stella Adler, thus explains her talent for acting. Her very first appearance onscreen was in John Frankenheimer’s Riviera, starring no less than her mother, when she was three years old.

Alexa Davalos also did ballet and theatrical productions while growing up. As a model she has worked with a handful of notable photographers, including her father, Jeff Dunas. She made her film debut in the fantasy movie The Chronicles of Riddick opposite Vin Diesel, Thandie Newton, and Judi Dench. It was a quite a commercial success, hitting $115 million in box office, and it made Alexa Davalos a star.

In 2002, Alexa Davalos starred in two directorial debuts of now notable directors, Charles Lyons and Mark Bomback. In Lyons’ The Ghost of F. Scott Fitzgerald, she played the role of Bess, a college sophomore who was deeply obsessed with the noted writer. Meanwhile, in Bomback’s Disturbing the Peace, Alexa Davalos was became a no nonsense adventurous yet passionate woman who wanted to test the endurance of the male heart by playing the game of forbidden love.

In 2003, she played the role of Teddy Simpson in HBO’s And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself, opposite Antonio Banderas. The said movie won Broadcast Film Critics Association’s Critics Choice Awards’ Best Picture made for Television. Alexa Davalos' television success continued in 2005 when she played roles in the TV series Undeclared, as well as Angel, playing the role of the mutant Gwen Raiden.

Recently, Alexa Davalos starred in the romantic comedy entitled Feast of Love alongside Morgan Freeman, Greg Kinnear and Selma Blair. She played the role of Diane Keaton’s daughter in the TV movie Surrender Dorothy, and the short-lived psychological thriller Reunion. She is also part of the upcoming movie Defiance, which is scheduled to be released in 2008.
