Alexandra Estrella De Anna Meneses, famously known as Alex Meneses, was born on the 12th of February 1965 in Chicago. Her father is Mexican and her mother has a Ukrainian lineage. As a child, every summer Alex trained for acting at The Second City Improvisational Theatre. After high school Alex was offered to do modeling in Italy. She accepted the job and though the initial offer to her was for only a three month long job, she fell in love with the whole of Italy and decided to extend her stay to two years. During her stay she became a very successful model not just in Italy but across Europe. Also in Italy, she was again inspired to act by the Latin actress Rita Moreno when she saw her in West Side Story.

When she returned to the United States she did not come back to Chicago and instead moved to Los Angeles. She decided to pursue her acting dreams and trained at the Lee Strasberg Institute.

Before landing major roles in television and in film she acted in numerous Los Angeles stage productions. Then she first appeared in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman as Teresa Morales. She also had a recurring role in the hit sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. She played Stafania, the Italian lover of Robert. She was also seen in The Hugleys.

In 2002, Alex was awarded with an as "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Television Series" recognition for her performance in Everybody Loves Raymond given by the ALMA Award. When not acting for television or film, Alex travels to Chicago to visit her family and friends.
