Adrienne Bailon was first discovered by singer Ricky Martin in 1999, while he was looking for backup singers for his US tour. During the start of her career, she became one of the founding members of the group 3LW, which stands for 3 Little Women, together with Naturi Naughton and Kiely Williams. The group released their first album entitled 3LW, and their songs garnered moderate success with singles such as No More and Playas Gon Play. The album went platinum in the summer of 2001 and they took part at the MTV TRL tour along with Destinys Child, Nelly, Eve, and Jessica Simpson. Naughton left the group in 2002, but Bailon and Williams continued to work under their groups name.
As 3LW continued to be around working on another album and releasing a few more singles, Adrienne Bailon and Williams crossed over to a new group under the name The Cheetah Girls, this time with Sabrina Bryan. Together they made movies including The Cheetah Girls, The Cheetah Girls 2, and the upcoming The Cheetah Girls 3: Indian Adventure. As a group they also starred in their self-titled television series at the Disney Channel, but the show was cancelled before being aired. However, they continued to make guest appearances in several television shows including the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Good Morning America. The soundtrack albums of their movies also went platinum and double platinum. Eventually they released their self-titled debut album on September 2007.
Apart from being member of two singing groups as well as a blossoming acting career, Adrienne Bailon would also want to go on her own. She played the role of Alana in the series Thats so Raven. She also wants to work on a solo album in 2008, which she plans to have a different flavor from 3LW and The Cheetah Girls, including a line up of Spanish songs. Because of this endeavor there have been speculations that 3LW are bound to disband, added to the groups current inactivity in the music scene.
