Adrianne Barbeau was born on the 11th of June 1945 in Sacramento, California. Her father is French Canadian while her mother is an Armenian American. She was well known for her role, Carole Trainer, in Maude the hit sit com in the 70s.

In the 60s Adrianne moved from California to New York and worked as a dancer. She also appeared in the off-Broadway nudie musical Stag Movie. Then she made her debut in Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof. She played the role of Hodel, the daughter of Tevye. She then appeared in more than twenty plays and musicals including Women Behind Bars, Grease, The Best Little and Whorehouse in Texas. She played Rizzo in Grease and won the Theater Guild Award and was nominated by the Tony Award in 1972.

In the 70s Adrianne appeared on television. From 1972 to 1978 she played the character of Carol in Maude. It was for her appearance on the show that earned her the nickname Adrianne Barboobs. She also had numerous performances in television which included guest starring in The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Battle of the Network Stars and Valentine Magic on Love Island.

Her fame grew steadily and many lusted for her sexy body. She was even offered by Playboy to pose topless which she refused. This is despite her nude poses in High Society and in many off-Broadway nudies she appeared at.

Then in 1980 she was cast in the 1980 horror flick The Fog. The film was directed by John Carpenter, her husband at that time and it was her first major film appearance. The movie was released on the 1st day of February and it was a huge box office success. It grossed over $20 million in the United States. The success of The Fog established her as horror lead actress. She then did Escape from New York, again by her then husband Carpenter. Then she appeared in the Creepshow and in the Swamp Thing. In 1981 she appeared in another smash hit The Cannonball Run.

After the success of The Cannonball Run she was never in another hit movie. She appeared in Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death and in Tomes and Talismans in 1986.

In the 90s she appeared in some off-Broadway shows and in televisions. She appeared in The Drew Carey Show, Batman: The Animated Series, Gotham Girls and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In 1998 she released her first album entitled Adrianne Barbeau. She also appeared in Carnivale from 2003 to 2005. And in 2006 she played Judy Garland in the off-Broadway production of The Property Known as Garland.
