Adriana Fonseca Biography
Adriana Fonseca is one of the most sought-after faces in Mexican show business. As a child, Fonseca already had the passion of the performing arts, particularly dancing. She studied Classical Ballet for 10 years, and appeared in musicals such as Swan Lake and Cinderella in Veracruz. At the age of 16, she attended the CEA (Centro de Education Artistica) in Mexico.
Because of her beauty, Adriana Fonseca became the Face of the Herald (El Rostro del Heraldo) in 1997. She also did some modeling, which opened her doors to stardom. She made her television debut on the soap opera Pueblo Chico, Infierno Grande, alongside one of Mexicos superstars, Veronica Castro. Afterwards she also appeared in another television drama entitled La Usurpadora with heartthrob Fernando Colunga.
Adriana Fonsecas acting career continued to flourish as she took on the role of Lucy, in the hit 1999 soap Rosalinda, which starred Thalia. Her sweet yet highly-determined character in the soap opened the door for her first starring role in a drama series, Amigos Por Siempre, opposite Ernesto LaGuardia.
While she was on Rosalinda, Adriana Fonseca also did a theater performance entitled Mama nos guitar los nobios, along with other notable personalities including Angelica Maria and Hulio Aleman. She also won the El Rostro del Año award during this time.
Adriana Fonseca has been notoriously known for being difficult to work with, mainly because of a wild social life. In 2000, she received severe criticism for her recent acting performances as told by Amigos magazine, and in the year after, she was dismissed from a soap opera that she was supposed to be part of, as requested by the shows producer Rosy Ocampo. She was able to make up for her messed-up acting career, when she played the life of Ines Rodena entitled Mujer Bonita (Pretty Woman), in a 10-part miniseries produced by Ignacio Sada. Fonseca starred opposite Rene Stickler in this project.
In 2005, Adriana Fonseca went back to modeling, but this time posed nude for the magazines. She was highly criticized for this stint, and this has negatively affected her career. However, she continued to gain acting roles in soap operas including one produced by noted TV magnate Nicandro Diaz.
Adriana Fonseca has two siblings, Jacqueline and Hugo. Their parents are both dentists.
