Ada Nicodemou first appeared on television at the age of 13 in an episode of Police Rescue, in 1991. She also joined the Johnny Young Talent School and a dance show group named Kids Unlimited. Three years later she auditioned for a part in Home and Away in 1994, but only landed in bit roles. She was then given the role of Katarina on Heartbreak High, and remained on the show for three years.
After leaving Heartbreak High, Ada Nicodemou took a break from show business and focused on her studies, as she took up Tourism at Tafe. Eventually she worked as an events coordinator. She returned to television in 1999 and became known as Fiona in Breakers. She also did a cameo role as the white bunny girl in the movie The Matrix.
Finally in 2000, Ada Nicodemou landed on a major role in the soap opera that she always wanted to be part of, Home and Away. She played the character of Leah Poulos, an Australian born daughter of Greek parentage. Her Greek ancestry enabled Nicodemou to portray the role perfectly, as Leah Poulos was described to be proud of her heritage and culture.
Ada Nicodemou has been nominated several times at the Logie Awards as Australias Most Popular Television Performer. In 2005, she and dancer Aric Yegudkin won in the celebrity dance contest, Dancing with the Stars. According to the actress, joining the said contest has been a real life-changing experience for her, and it made her more mature not just in her profession but in her overall well-being.
Being nurtured with a tight Greek upbringing, Ada Nicodemou went to a Greek school and knows how to speak and write in Greek. Her father has lived in Cyprus since she was 15 and because of that Nicodemou has grown close to her mother and younger brother.
Ada Nicodemou married restaurateur Chrys Xipolitas in February 2007. The wedding was held in a private ceremony that featured 5,000 roses and an elegant $60,000 bridal gown. The said event was kept from the media, thus security had to open umbrellas against photographers who wanted to catch a glimpse of the actress as she walked down the aisle. Less than a month before their marriage, Xipolitas and his friends were evicted less than 24 hours in their supposed three-day stay at a Sydney hotel after his friends trashed several rooms that they occupied for his stag party.
